Martin Luther was once asked what he would do if he knew that the end of the world was very near, "I would plant a tree," he said. When the dark shadows appear, as they will, it would be foolish to flee into darkness. Christians affirm the victory of Christ in all circumstances. He is the light of the world! So let us each set what light we have been given upon the hill. Then the overcast horizon may yet clear for a time. And when the end comes, we will continue to shine the glory of Jesus.
